American Association of Nurses – Illinois
ANA-Illinois is the professional association for registered nurses in Illinois and the state partner to the national American Nurses Association (ANA). Their goal is to build a community of nurses dedicated to advancing their profession and providing safe, affordable healthcare.
Illinois Board of Nursing (under Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation)
Executes state regulation of nursing practice and education in Illinois. Controls individual licensure and eligibility to write the NCLEX-RN (and NCLEX-PN) exams. Provides approval for schools of nursing with the state to operate.
Established as part of an overall strategy to produce more highly-skilled nursing professionals to meet the health care needs in Illinois. The ICN works with industry professionals and educational institutions to ensure that Illinois has the nursing workforce necessary to meet the demands of a growing and aging population.

Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders (IONL)
IONL provides direction for achievement of excellence in nursing leadership at all levels of nursing, across the continuum of health care. IONL promotes professional leadership development, provides tools and resources and creates intentional networking. IONL is an affiliate of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE).
